Job Overview:

The Engineering Technician III provides technical support for enterprise IT and Audio-Visual (AV) systems supporting conference rooms, collaboration spaces, and operational facilities. The successful candidate will install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and support a variety of IT, networking, conferencing, and public address systems while delivering exceptional customer service to a diverse user base, including executive and VIP stakeholders.

This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience with AV technologies, and the ability to work independently while supporting mission-critical operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, cable, maintain, and support conference room technology and AV systems.
  • Support both legacy and newly deployed conference room equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues affecting conference room operations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and equipment patching activities.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for conference room incidents.
  • Evaluate system performance and recommend upgrades and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor data traffic and network resource performance to ensure reliable service delivery.
  • Troubleshoot network integrity, connectivity, and performance issues.
  • Support Voice over IP (VoIP) systems and related telecommunications technologies.
  • Resolve work orders involving network, AV, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Perform technical analysis of software, hardware, transmission, and conferencing systems.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools to identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Analyze technical problems and implement solutions using established procedures and best practices.
  • Document findings, maintenance activities, and resolutions.
  • Construct, assemble, and adapt components, subassemblies, and equipment.
  • Conduct testing and experimentation using standard test equipment and procedures.
  • Compile, process, and analyze engineering and operational data.
  • Assist with equipment modifications and design improvements.
  • Identify inconsistencies in technical documentation and engineering data
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and technical support to end users.
  • Support VIP customers and executive stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to users with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Resolve incidents in accordance with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Required Qualifications:

  • Option 1
    • Associate Degree (AA/AS) in Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field
    • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
  • OR
  • Option 2
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
  • Experience supporting Audio-Visual (AV) conference room systems
  • Experience with conference room displays and control systems
  • Experience with:
    • Cisco conferencing technologies
    • Crestron systems
    • AMX control systems
    • VoIP technologies
    • Network infrastructure support
  • Experience troubleshooting PC hardware and software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Desired Skills:

  • Experience supporting NASA or Federal Government environments
  • Experience supporting executive or VIP customers.
  • Experience with enterprise conferencing platforms and collaboration technologies
  • Experience performing technical documentation and reporting.
  • Experience with engineering data collection and analysis
